How much food for a retirement party buffet?
For an early-evening buffet, plan about 230 g (8 oz) of warm main per guest, about 125 g (4.4 oz) of each side, and boards at about 85 g (3 oz) per guest per type. If it is a drinks reception only, plan ten to twelve bites per guest in total as a rule of thumb.
How long should retirement speeches be?
About three minutes each, with two or three speakers, then a reply from the retiree. Hold them early in the evening when everyone is still there.
Who pays for a retirement party?
Often the employer, a group of colleagues or the family. Agree who is covering what at the start, and treat every cost as an estimate until the bills are in.
How much sparkling wine for a toast?
A 750 ml bottle pours about eight small toast glasses. For thirty guests, four bottles for the toast is usually plenty, with other drinks for the rest of the evening.
